Andy Murray was given an emotional farewell after his final appearance at Wimbledon began with a straight-set defeat alongside older brother Jamie.

Murray could well be back on Centre Court with Emma Raducanu in a couple of days. This though was the orchestrated farewell the tug-at-your-heartstrings.

It was an emotional night for three-time grand slam champion Murray on Thursday as the 37-year-olds Wimbledon farewell began with a 6-3 6-4 7-6 (7-2) defeat to Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic in the second round of the men's doubles.

A teary but somewhat at-peace Murray conceded this felt like the end as Wimbledon paid tribute to its British hero on what is likely to be his final appearance at the Championships.
